چکیده

We estimate the numbers and mass spectra of observed lepton and kaon pairs produced from φ meson decays in the central rapidity region of an Au+Au collision at lab energy 11.6 GeV/nucleon. The following effects are considered: possible mass shifts, thermal broadening due to collisions with hadronic resonances, and superheating of the resonance gas. Changes in the dilepton mass spectrum may be seen, but changes in the dikaon spectrum are too small to be detectable. Typeset using REVTEX Electronic mail (internet): [email protected]. Modifications of hadron masses and some of their basic properties with temperature or nuclear density are considered as one possible signatures for the formation of dense hadronic matter in nuclear collisions. We discuss here some basic results on the temperature dependence of hadron properties obtained from calculations of hadron correlation functions, the chiral condensate as well as the equa...

Lattice QCD at finite T and μ

Recent results of lattice QCD at finite temperature and density are reviewed. At vanishing density the transition temperature, the equation of state and hadron properties are discussed both for the pure gauge theory and for dynamical staggered, Wilson and overlap fermions. The second part deals with finite density. There are recent results for full QCD at finite temperature and moderate density...

Calculation of Thermodynamic Properties of the Quasi-one Dimensional Liquid 3He at Finite Temperature

We have used a variational approach to calculate some thermodynamic properties of the quasi-one dimensional liquid 3He such as the energy, entropy, free energy, equation of state and heat capacity at finite temperature. We have employed the Lennard-Jones potential as the inter-atomic interaction. We have seen that the total energy increases by increasing both temperature and density....

Variational Calculations for the Relativistic Interacting Fermion System at Finite Temperature: Application to Liquid 3He

In this paper, at first we have formulated the lowest order constrained variational method for the relativistic case of an interacting fermion system at finite temperature. Then we have used this formalism to calculate some thermodynamic properties of liquid in the relativistic regime. The results show that the difference between total energies of relativistic and non-relativistic cases of liqu...

Screened potential and quarkonia properties at high temperatures

We perform a quark model calculation of the quarkonia bb and cc spectra using smooth and sudden string breaking potentials. The screening parameter is scale dependent and can be related to an effective running gluon mass that has a finite infrared fixed point. A temperature dependence for the screening mass is motivated by lattice QCD simulations at finite temperature. Qualitatively different r...
